Getting Made Up, aka pictures of me in the bathroom

So. On Saturday, I slept in, got up, and skipped my usual shower since I was going to have a sauna in the evening. 

Having both on the same day is nothing but a waste of water. 

 Anyways. 

Husband comes home from his morning walk, and tells me his gran has made cake since it's her 82nd B-day. Also, his mom's made dinner. 

I didn't really feel like going anywhere, so, as a little pick-me-up, I immortalized the process of getting ready. 

Started with a "fresh from bed"- face. 

Lauantaina mies ilmoitti, että pitäis mennä anoppilaan ja mummulaan. Olin varautunut viettämään koko päivän sohvan välittömässä läheisyydessä, ja menemään illalla saunaan, joten ei ollut kaunis olo.

Quite fetching... 

UncleYves gave me a super-cool product which is perfect for mornings like this one. It's a mild cleanser with green tea in it. It removes resedue of make-up, balances the skin, and makes it feel fresh and clean. 

SetäYveksen ihmetuote apuun. Puhdistusvesi poistaa meikinjämät, ja sen sisältämä vihreä tee piristää ihoa. Epäillen suhtauduin, mutta kun ilmatteeksi antoivat, kokeilin. Ja yllätyin, tosi hyvä aine, herkälle iholle passeli.

Doesn't do magic, but at least I felt a little less oily :D

I still don't like wearing much make-up. Usually, I get by with shadow, mascara, and lipstick. 

Saturday was no exception. 

I picked white shadow. I like the way it makes eyes look brighter. 

En vieläkään kauheasti meikkiä käytä. Lauantaina valitsin yllättäen valkoisen luomivärin.

This mascara was also a freebie. UncleYves is totally spoiling me <3 

I'm not that nuts about this product, though. I hate the name, the brush has a really odd shape, and the mascara itself makes my lashes feel icky and sticky and heavy. 

 

Ripsivärinkin antoi SetäYves lahjaksi. Tästä en niin digsi: nimi on kamala, harja hankala, ja koostumus jättää ripset ikävän tahmeiksi.

I apply mascara first, 'cause I always make a mess. It's easier to clean lids after, and then apply shadow, than to first do shadow, put on mascara, and then do the shadow all over again. 

Sääntöjen vastaisesti laitan ripsiväriä ensin. Sottaan aina, ja on helpompi putsata paljaat luomet.

A touch of white on upper lid, a dab in the middle of lower lid. 

Does wonders. 

 

Valkoista yläluomelle, ja aavistus keskelle alaluomea. Näyttää melkein pirteältä.

Lips next. I've developed a trick which ensures stain-free, long-lasting colour. Make-up artists probably say "NOOOO!!!!", but I don't really care :D 

What you need, is a lip liner. I chose pinkish-red.  

Kestävän huulipunan aikaansaamiseksi on rikottava sääntöjä. Taas. Valitsin pinkkiin taittavan punan. Kuvittelin sen käyvän kolttuun. Pieleen meni. Ei haittaa.

Line your lips. Be wide about it. 

 

Ekkana rajataan, leviästi.

Spread the colour evenly, and you're good to go. 

Eating will naturally result in a right mess, but that's unaboidable if you're unwilling to buy turbo-charged cosmetics. 

 

Levitetään väri tasaiseksi. Muuta ei tartte. Näin puna ei sottaa eikä karkaile, kestää pitkään, ja on näyttävä.

At this point, husband started sighing. I think he was hungry. 

But i still had a raccoon's nest to deal with. 

Hair is always an issue when going out, especially if I haven't had the chance to have a shower. It's naturally wavy, and when I sleep, it both flattens and rises. 

 

Tukan kanssa on aina vaikeaa. Son luonnostaan laineikas, ja kun sitä ei aamulla taltuta suihkulla, se osoittelee kaikkiin ilmansuuntiin, ja on yhdestä kohdasta littana, ja toisesta pörheä.

I was getting hungry, too, so I solved the problem with a hat. It was cold outside. 

 

Oli jo nälkä, joten ratkaisin ongelman laittamalla pipon. Ulkona oli kylmä. Pitihän se anoppilassa ottaa pois, mutta hei, kaikilla on talvella pipotukka :D

I wore a basic turtle-neck paired with a long skirt, and a short dress. Comfy outfit, but nothing fancy. 

 

Piällä oli peruspoolo, pitkä musta hame, sekä luumunpunainen liivimekko. Vähän oli arkinen asu, mutta eipä täällä niin ole justiinsa. Anoppilassa sattui myös olemaan tuntematon lapsi, joka katsoi hyväksi jättää hameeseeni suklaisen kädenjäljen. Olis voinut harmittaa, jos olisin laittanut jotain hienompaa :D

Turns out the outfit was surprisingly fitting... a kid left a chocolatey hand-print on my skirt. Had I worn something "better", I might have been upset about it :D 

So. Dinner was nice, cake was good, and I got to have my sauna :D
